So for some reason, I've just brought to mind the sweets my dad always had in his glovebox when I was a kid.

They came individually wrapped, I think in a white packet, were oblong shaped, and came in a variety of fruit flavours, hard on the outside, chewy/soft on the inside.

Can anyone remember what these were? And can they still be bought!?

Haha, true!

Really thin - maybe 0.5cm x 0.5cm x 2cm. For some reason I remember thinking that the branding was pretty old school and upmarket.

I think that packaging was almost all white with red writing.

Edit: just seen you found them. My grandad always had those along with polos and wherthers originals :). Surprised I have any teeth left :D.

Fishermen's friend used to knock me for 6

Chocolate eclairs were the ultimate glove box drive time sweets

i think they used to be made by Pascall and called fruit bonbon's
they were bought out and relaunched by Bassett's with the same fruit bonbon name, i think they came unwrapped

How I remember these sweets:

BLACKCURRANT!!
*suck suck suck* (hurr)
*works tongue into dissolved crack, probing for fruity gooey goodness*
*Innocent tongue slides to sugary overhang 1.54x10^-9 m in width with similar edge properties to the finest blade steel known to man*
