Not a console game.. an arcade game! I've also got the weirdest feeling of deja vu that I've asked this before... 33 is a bit young to be senile, eh?

Anyway, the game is a top-down car chase game played in a kind of maze. You control a car, and your basic movements are left & right to change the lane of the maze you are driving in. You go in one direction round the maze and there are trucks going in the opposite direction. If you touch the truck you die.

There are also girls on roller skates going round the maze you can pick up for power-ups (jump, speed, freeze I think). These can be used to disable the trucks for a short period of time.

The aim of each maze is to pick up all the coins (like pac-man). While the trucks are operational they drop coins, so you have to disable them all and collect all the coins to move to the next level.

The game over screen is a 'test your strength' game you see at the fair, the guy hits the thing with the hammer and your score is shown by how high the doobery goes.

It's something like 'California Games' but my google-fu is weak.

I only saw this thing once at a train station as I young nipper and I can remember it flippin 3 decades later :p Just not well enough to find it again! Halp preeze!

Thanks, but it's not that one; mine is a bit more modern, would be late 80s tho for sure. You couldn't go backwards, but you could accelerate and brake.
