Help me set up raid on my laptop

Hey,

I am after some helpe setting up raid on a laptop I bought.

It has two 160 gb hard drives, when it came configured from sony it didnt come raided, but I know it does have the ability, and have the drivers.

My question is, do I have to do a fresh install?

If so do I need to set something up in bios first? Or just present the drivers on installation?

I will be installing vista.

Hi,

First you will need to enable raid in BIOS
Then you will need to set up disks. It will prompt during post(if it is intel raid think its ctrl+i) this will take you into the raid setup. You can then choose which disks/type of raid/stripe size etc

Next you will need to make sure you have the drivers on a usb key, and F6 install them when prompted by vista.

After that finish installing vista as normal.
