Evening all :).

I'm just wondering if I could get some help/advice on sorting my cooling out in my system. I have the following:

4 - Noctua NF-S12B REDUX PWM 1200RPM 120mm Quiet Case Fans

NZXT Kraken X52 AIO Water Cooling Unit - 240mm - stock fans

They are cooling a i7 7700k @ stock for the moment in a Enthoo Evolv atx.

Currently got the Kraken in the front then the 4 noctua fans on the roof as exhausts.

Have I got it set up right? Temps are in the 40c just in windows, I can't test games until my rx480 arrives.

Thanks for any help.

If the temps are fine then it doesn't matter. If you're asking what I would have done with the Enthoo Evolv I would have put the Kraken top mount ( I would have also bought the x62 for the extra fiver seeing as that case can fit a 280mm rad) with the fans blowing through the rad, one fan at the back as exhaust and then the fans at the front as intake. With the rad on the front you actually have no fans blowing air into your case. Be aware that there are different fan types, one is SP which is best used on radiators, heatsinks etc and the other is better for airflow ie intake fans.

Hi would you connect all the fans to the fan headers on the cable which comes with the Kraken? Or would you use the hub which comes with the case? I didn't get the X62 because it wasnt available at the time. I plan to redo the build tomorrow.

Thanks once again

Always connect CPU cooling to the motherboard header. The hub at the back has all the fans at the same speed so they're best suited to case fans.

I think Gamers Nexus ( YouTube channel and website) did quite a thorough review on the new Kraken AIO's which has good information on cooling in regards the temp and noise levels.

40c at idle i think is high,
the fan's on the rad need to be run by the CPU fan header on the motherboard so speed changes as the CPU is put under load.
the pump need to run by a fixed voltage output so you can set the pump and a fixed RPM, you maybe getting high idle temps because the pump is too slow.

as for mounting the rad front, back, top, bottom, what ever just have it set to exhaust the hot air out of the case

Hi...

I have swapped my fans around now :) I have 3 Noctua NF-S12B as intakes at the front of my case then I have the Kraken in to roof with 2 fans pushing air out through the rad, the last Noctua fan is an exhaust. So far the temps have been 29-33c idle and 50c load which is loads better! Even when I overclock my i7700k to 5GHz I'm only hitting 58-60c load thats with the Kraken on silent mode!
