Hi,

I have a strange issue with my wifi connection, its works perfectly all over the house except in my bedroom. The router and modem are only a few metres down the hall so it doesn't make sense. Apparently there has always been a problem getting wifi in this room. I haven't found anything obvious causing interference and the signal works perfectly everywhere else.

My macbook, android phone and windows desktop all have the problem so its not a receiver problem. I have tried multiple wireless extenders, different modems and routers with no luck. What options do I have left? There is a phone line connection in the room so is there anything I can do with that?

Thanks

might be worth having at look at the powerline options.

as a check, how close can you get to/into the room before the signal drops ?

Forgot they existed.

The signal starts dropping just before the doorway.

There is anything special about your room that is different from other rooms in the house? What device do you have apart from the ones mentioned ( electronic devices) in your room?

I think the room was an extension with one wall shared with the garage. Other devices are TV, ps3, speakers and wireless headphones.

Could start with running Wireless Analyzer app on your android phone, and look at the signal pages, step in and out of your room and compare whats going on - could highlight a significant drop in dB or show interfering channels etc

Interesting results, all wifi signals in my room 'pulse' randomly gaining and losing strength significantly and there are quite a few complete dead spots. All goes normal when I go about a metre into the hallway.

Cheers for the help
