Hey guys, a friend of mine is asking me to build him a new PC, I'm more than happy to do so, but I've not specced/built a pc for 18 months so I'm a bit behind on whats what really! :)

Main spec, needs to be a normal sized black tower, 300+gb HDD, dvd-rw, wireless black keyboard/mouse, windows vista home premium (Whichever is better, 32 or 64, to be bought within this bundle).

Basically the budget is £500, he has no intention of spending it all if not needed, it'll be for windows/multimedia/internet usage, some games like football manager etc.. but nothing TOO grpahically intensive, as instead of putting down a large sum on a graphics card and worry about upgrading again soon, he's going to cut back and get an XBOX 360 for his more graphical gaming.

The only optional on this is a monitor, ideally a 19/20" Widescreen, if funds permit. Not really asking for anything earth shattering, just something quiet-ish, efficient, and that will do whats needed :)

Any ideas folks?

Specs

You can Build a very good Pc by using the following.

1)Intel E8500
2)Asus Rampage Formula(mobo)
3)Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500 Airflow(memory)
4)Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache(HDD)
You can partitioned it later
5)Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case(case)

You can use any cd/dvd drives (all of them are cheap enough for him)

The rest is up to u.

Mike

Above spec is good but major overkill for a non gaming pc. My spec would be something like:

E2180
P5Q
Geil RAM
Corsair HX520
Antec 300
Samsung HDD
64 bit Vista
Freezer 7 cooler
Lite-on DVDRW
Xilence Redwings (fans)
Any last gen GPU will probably do but maybe a 2nd hand 8800gt as it will allow for good fps when gaming, 9600gt or 3850/70 will be *** too tho

I don't think £500 for everything including operating system without going amd is possible but I'll give it a go
If he gets 2gb of ram instead can afford a keyboard and mouse and maybe upgrade to 4 gb later.
Oops change the case to Antec NSK 4480B Mini Tower Case (Black) - 380W Earth Watts PSU it's the same price didn't see it must be black.
