So my mum's PC needs an upgrade. She's using an 8-9 year old PC right now which is pretty much burnt out. All i need is:

Motherboard (onboard sound preferably)
CPU
RAM
case (w/psu if it comes with one, otherwise i have one i can use)

Max budget i guess is £200, i'd rather it was around the £100-£150 mark.

No gaming use, just web browsing, word/spreadsheet processing, a little bit of music and that's it.

Thanks in advance.

This is actually not bad for how little it costs. Pretty pleased with this :D

*edit* - Yeah I just realised that. Changed spec as needed.

The major flaw in the above plan is soooo obvious i wont even point it out! :p

I've gone with the 2800 Sempron as it has double the L2 cache of the 2600 and only costs about £5 more. The motherboard has onboard graphics and sound. 512mb Ram ought to be easily sufficient for the uses suggested and you could possibly get away with a cheaper case and PSU but I think getting a fairly decent one is less hassle overall.

Scary aint it.....

Hey, we've all been there or at least I have :o :)

As it stands now any of the above specifications will do fine, I'm somewhat surprised that you can get a socket 939 chip and system into the budget but it is possibly overkill(they all are for internet and word processing I suppose).
