firstly hi everyone and sorry :)

i know this is asked a lot and i have read quite a bit but im indesisive (spelling).

im after a new system preferably dual core and ddr2 specs.

i dont need monitor or anything like that just mobo/processor/memory/graphics i currently have -
epox 9npa+ sli 939
3200 athlon 64
1 gig dual channel crucial value ram
x550 saphire graphics (built on the cheap at the time)
running xp pro

spec also in sig

i want to start gaming again after being off the scene for a bit, i keep reading about the new conroe systems and may make a switch if its what people advice, im after an open sugestion with a budget of around £450
i know my current graphics are rubbish the whole system feels slow to me at present.
many thanx in advance for all advice and help and im not into overclocking.

Why not try just adding a new graphics card? Your system is hardly a snail so by changing the graphics to an x1800xt you should have no problem playing most games at full detail. If you really need more power then you could add the cpu/memory/mobo at another time.

Seriously you should overclock your current system, it's zero risk so long as you don't go overboard and it's a hell of a performance boost!!!!

yes i been toying with that idea my memory needs replacing as its causing freezes very randomly, i may change both memory and card, then like you say do cpu at a later date, do you have any advice/info on ocing the board ? thanks :)

ps.
