Hi guys, looking at getting my ram up to speed as i read the ivybridge platform responds well to faster ram.

Curently have 8gb of Kingston Beast 1866mhz timings are 9 11 9 24 1n and voltage is set to stock 1.65.

I tried setting them to 2000mhz in bios but i bsod so i loosened the timings by 1 then 2 stops but im getting nowhere.

Obviously i dont know what im doing so imback at stock speed and timings, i cant even find a guide

It seems nobody knows how, or can point me to a guide I can learn from to overclock my ram, i have seen countless google searches leading to forum questions being unanswered in this subject.

This is best it get but im not sure what he is going on about

You're expecting quick replies on new years day :p?

Anyway, for the IB system, the BLK can't be changed so only thing you can change to affect the speed is the multiplier. You may need to loosen the timings or raise the voltage to make it stable, but doing this can sometimes negate the performance gains.

I would just leave the speed as it is anyway, there's much really much difference from 1600mhz+ and at best you'll probably only see a mere 1fps improvement in games.

Yep most people are usually recovering from eating too much and drinking too much so there isnt much left to do.

I need to do this, its part of being an overclocker, I will at least try.

Happy new year!
