I have a pentium 4 3.0 ghz lga 775
I don't have too much spare for a cpu do i go for a good pentium 4 945dual core @ 3.4 ghz
or do i try for the new intel core duo e6600 system spec will stay as in sig apart from cpu, I need real help lol :confused:
 
If your M/B is a GA-945PL-S3 (maybe an error in your sig) your M/B will support core2duo with latest BIOS update.

definately go with E6600 (or E6300, E6400) all way better than pentium 4 at standard clock speeds and overclock like mad if you want them to and providing your M/B will alow you to.

Noob question coming up here, how do I check what speed memory is running at and how do I change it, sorry :(
 
Well u got the 945 motherboard there with 667 memory and the board only goes up to 533, so non-issue really. Just trying to check if the mb in your sig has a typo.
 
Should I change to another m/b that does 1066 fsb and uses the 800 mem?
