Hi Guys,

I m new here! :) I m here because I need some help in my new acquisition, I have usually built my own PC but since 5 years old, right now I m a little bit confused between CPUS with their respective sockets 1150, 1155 and 2011.

So I appreciate your help if you can complete the rest of components I have left, with a good bundle from OVERCLOCKERS Bundle Shop Section.

Basically I want to change part of my staff because I think I have a bottle neck between the CPU and both graphic cards :(.

Please try to focus the computer in a Extreme Gamer components base in the budget which is £700 .

Actual :

Case : Cosmos 2
CPU: Q9550 2,8 @ 3,4Mhz
Main-board: EVGA Ultra SLI 790i
RAM: 16 DDR 3 1600Mhz
Graphic Card : 2 X 680GTX *(SLI)
Monitor: Asus VG278HE 27" LED 3D 144Hz
PSU: Aerocool Strike-X 1100w Modular
HD: 2Tb
SDD: 120

Expected:

Case : Cosmos 2
CPU:
CPU Cooler::confused:
Main-board:
RAM:
Graphic Card : 2 X 680GTX *(SLI)
Monitor: Asus VG278HE 27" LED 3D 144Hz
PSU: Aerocool Strike-X 1100w Modular
HD: 2Tb
SDD: 120Gb
Second SDDL

Thanks a lot to all those people who will try to tell me what s my best choice on this.

Leave the SSD out mate, I have another budget for it. do u think £700 is not a good budget for Main-board, CPU , CPU cooler and RAM?
Thanks for your help , do as much as possible.

This is great ! Thanks a lot. But u know , I m not very happy at all , I think we can get better things if we make our own bundle... because I have read a little and they are not very optimized ...

For Example : Bundle i7 3820 RAM: TeamGroup Elite 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel
- why not Quad Channels? and why not faster RAM?

Quasar 270i" Intel Core i7 4770K looks nice.. but I dont think I need a Mainboard supporting 4 SLI way... I only have 2 Graphic cards...

Can you please if is not a pain in the ass , build something nice , forgetting bundles?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Ultimately it all depends on what you are using the PC for. If it is solely gaming then you will be better off with the faster clock for clock haswell (1150) than the Sandybridge-E (2011).

However if it is raw processing power you require for video editing, photoshop etc. Then the Sandybridge-E CPUs are a better choice.

It is exclusive gaming... another thing nobody take into account is why nobody advice AMD? what about this bundle?

Ok that makes is easier to spec then.

AMD is good but the 8 Cores won't be the best in regards to gaming performance.

Generally speaking you don't need more than four cores for gaming. As games do no utilise the extra processing power yet.

AMD has good products but they don't match up to Intel on ultimate performance but in regards to value for money and pricing, you can't go far wrong.

If you are set on an AMD CPU I would opt for maybe a Six core so you have the benefit of extra cores and headroom for a high overclock to give you that extra boost.
