Hi,

Complete novice. Can you help me ( with idiod's approach) how to overclock my motherboard?

This is a Link of the "OC" section of my Mobo's user's manual:=

Asus P5K Premium WiFi,Intel,
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 95W 2.4GHz, OCZ Vendetta Cpu Cooler, 2x2GB, 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 800 (400mhz) PC2-6400, EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX KO 512MB GDDR3 (PCI-E),Excelsior sata 500gb, Corsair TX750M Psu, X45, XPhome/win864

To overclock, increase the FSB

The FSB * the multiplier (9 in your case) = clock speed

stock multi is 9, and stock fsb is 266

9 * 266 = 2,394MHz (2.4GHz)

If you wanted to overclock to say, 3GHz, then increase FSB to 333 (9 * 333 = 2,997MHz)

Just lock the vcore down to something sensible before you start playing

EDIT - note that by overclocking the FSB, you will also be overclocking your ram, but your ram is good for 400 FSB (which is enough for 3.6GHz) so you should be fine with ram

When you start pushing the clocks, you will might need to add voltage to the northbridge and stuff, but its been so long since I touched a LGA 775 system that I couldn't really advise any further.

Sorry ca'nt understand a thing

what is "In the Ai tweaker menu"? erc etc

Am I missing something like an OC program to find those things?

I tried to read some info on OC but drew blank ..........nick

In the BIOS dude. That's the best place to overclock. The motherboard should have the options built in.
