Hi all,
I have 3 machines that are running the services.exe at 100% making the system impossible to use.
Its seems the problem started when trying to update the sms client to the latest version but and simple system restore in safe mode didnt resolve the problem. To rule out other issues I have ran a ful spyware and antivirus scan and found no problems.
Steps Taken
1. System Restore back to before problems
2. Removed all Statup entries
3. Full AV and Spyware scan
4. Checked Event logs but nothing
5. Tried viewing what program under services.exe using process mon
6. Fresh install of SP3 applied
Any other ideas? Ideally I would like to work out what caused the issue rather than just fix it with a fresh install.
