Just a couple of questions really.
I have a tiny games/TV room in my house, 2 TVs on the wall, with a 4x2 HDMI matrix sorting the inputs which are a PC, PS4, Fire TV and Chromecast.
Now the room is tiny, probably 2 and a bit metres wide by 3 and a bit long, so I sit maybe 2 metres away from the TV.
I was looking at getting a 5.1 kit, but with it being such a small room, would there be enough room for speakers for it to sound good? each back speaker would be maybe 30cm away from our ears, and each front speaker would only be 20cm away from the sides of the TV (50" so takes up a good bit of room). Is this enough room to have decent sound?
If this is ok, its then onto how to hook it up. Now my TV has optical out, but i've seen a good couple of systems with only RCA in, I thought that would only provide stereo? So would i need to find a system with an optical input? I've seen systems that come with dvd players, that i really don't need.
Final thing, can anyone recommend brands or what to look out for? I do have a spare sub knocking around from a soundbar i bought, so could reuse that. I know good setups will go into a good few hundred, but i would be looking at maybe £100-150 range, could push it a bit.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
