Hi All

My motherboard's onboard sound has given up on me, so now I need a sound card. I am looking at the X-Fi ExtremeMusic and it seems perfect but I dont understand the digital outputs. It only refers to:

FlexiJack: 3-in-1 function (Digital I/O1 / Line In / Microphone) via 3.50mm mini jack

But does it come with a suitable adaptor to the usual coaxial/optical type inputs? How does it work. I currently have a coaxial cable going to my Logitech Z-5450's (A decentish Profigold cable) and would obviously like to continue using this.

Thanks for the help!

It does not come with the adaptor, you need to buy that seperatly and I think its only available direct from Creative.

With the Digital output you can use a 3.5mm -> Phono adapter (if it's stereo, use the white one) for co-ax output. If you need inputs or optical out you need to buy a seperate module from Creative, but they're pretty expensive and have been out of stock on their website for aaaages now.

Would this be the correct adaptor to plug into the X-Fi to connect to my coaxial digital cable?

If I were to get one of these ( same scenario as original poster) would I be able to use that adapter in the picture to get coax out to my Inspire 5:1 5700 AND connect a gaming headset/ headphones & mic to the card at the same time? If so would I be able to leave headset connected when listening to music through the Inspire.

Hope that all makes sense!!!
