Hi,

I plan on getting Civ 5 and possibly the new fallout game but think my PC could do with a refit.

It's a:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB).
Abit AB9 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard.
I upgraded the ram to 2GB, gfx card is an ati 3870, the hard drive is damaged ( sata cble falls out if you move the PC) so i need to replace and i have xp home oem.
The case is fractal design r2 with an ocz 650 watt power supply.

I'm thinking I need windows 7 retail, a new gfx card and hdd. Do I need to upgrade mobo and processor as well?I also like the look of those all-in-one processor watercoolers.

Budget is around £400-max £500

Cheers

sell your 2gb of ram and put a 4gb kit in.

sell the 3870 and put the GTX460 in

stick the cooler on and crank some speed out of that CPU.

and for the new DX11 GPU win7 will allow all the new features to be used.

ok looking good, what oc would you expect for the processor. I had the stock cooler and it would only really get up to about 2ghz and started getting really hot and wobbly.

Anyway - I'd also be tempted with an ocz 60gb ssd drive. I reckon £130 extra for windows 7 and then £92 for the ssd drive....£460 in total with free postage
