Hey guys,

I'm looking to see if it is worth upgrading my rig to help improve my gaming experience. I currently run games such as WoW on Ultra at a steady 50-60 fps and down 15-25 fps in 25mans.

I have about £300-400 spend available and would like to know what is worth upgrading to see a noticeable increase in performance.

1. Processor (CPU) = Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz (4 CPUs), Core Speed ~3.8GHz
2. Motherboard = Gigabyte Technoology Co (P55-USB3)
3. Memory (RAM) = 8GB DDR3
4. Hard drive(s) = 1 x 465GB
5. Graphics card(s) = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
6. Power supply (PSU) = 600W
7. CPU cooler = Corsair

Also I have heard about solid state drives being a good choice, however I don't know if that applies to this !!

Maybe worth over clocking the Graphics Card if I even knew how to do that ??!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions !!

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

I went from a i5 760 clocked at 4.2Ghz to the 4670k I have now and i was dissapointed with the upgrade. In day to day tasks and gaming the difference is not that big. If i was you I would try to get a better overclock out of the cpu to 4-4.2Ghz, get a SSD and a better graphics card. What res do you game at and what make and model is that 600w psu? What speed is your ram as well?

Antec Case came with my Titan Exodus bundle bought in 2011 from Overclockers.

Power supply is OCZ stealth 2.

Display is 1600x900 on Sony Bravia 32" TV. (Can't seem to get 1920x1080 without the text going fuzzy)

Ok so the general theme is SSD and GPU ??

Is it worth getting another 660 or just getting a better GPU, as I've heard that games such as wildstar have issues with dual graphics cards... is there going to be a compatibility issue for some games using dual cards?

Excuse my ignorance, but will installing an SSD mean that I have to move all of my files from my existing hard drive to see the benefit?

Just get a new single more powerful gpu.

A SSD is like a HDD only miles faster. To get the best out of one you need to do a clean install of windows on it. If you have a large Steam folder then look at 240Gb+ or you will quickly run out of space.

Hey guys, well I have eventually upgraded my rig and want to thank everyone who gave me their advice. Amazing upgrade to my first !!!!

However I cant seem to get the sound driver to work with the turtle beach z22 ... the microphone and chat function don't work, only the speaker audio plays through them???
