Hi all,

Current spec

Asrock 939S56-M
Thermalright XP-90C
1gb (2x512mb) Geil Golden Dragon PC3500
1gb (2x512mb) Generic PC2700
Asus TA-212 Mid Tower Case with generic 360W PSU
X800GTO2

Ive got about £270 and am thinking if I sell my current componets, I can then get a C2D setup.

50 Geil
20 generic
20 generic
50 x800gto2
175 total

So... thats about £455 for an upgrade. What would you recommend?

How about this? Bit over budget, but would it be much better?

Not performance wise, no.

The motherboard is essentially the same but the S3 doesn't have all-solid capacitors for £10 less.

E6300 is marginally better than the E4300 for only a few £ more but if you want to overclock then the 4300 will make life easier.

The seasonic PSU will do just fine but you need a more powerful PSU if you want to upgrade to DX10 card soon.

That HIS 1950pro is quieter so it's up to you whether it is worth the £20 extra over the connect3d one. but for £130 quid you might as well go 1950XT for just £5 more on this week only.
