Help me upgrade...

I want to upgrade this crock of s*** because I dont know why it is lagging so badly when opening applications or booting up.

What information is needed?
I currently have:
4GB RAM
2 x 500GB Hitachi HDDs
Windows Vista
AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor 2.20 GHz

Keyboard, mouse, speakers obviously.
Think il keep my case.
Monitor may need replacing.

I want the machine to be quite quick and good for graphics due to my designing I use it for.

I'm just running a memory test on my pc as ideally I'd like to keep what I got for another month til I've got the cash, so what small parts cud I upgrade, not going for a full system if I can get away wiv it...

What is the make / model of your motherboard, you might be able to stick a better cpu in like the 955.
