Help me verify paypal!

Hi,

I just sell random old stuff on ebay for no profit.

Recently, it asked me to verify the account, and in the process it asked me what sort of business I run.

I selected "Individual - Non Profit - Personal" because that's what/why I sell on ebay.

But, they have now blocked my account until I upload a valid charity certificate (wtf?), VAT certificate, and a few other pieces of evidence. :mad::rolleyes:

There are no other options which relate to what I use my paypal account for! They just list a plethora of specific businesses like "Gifts & flowers", "Baby", "Advertising".

I'd highly appreciate if you could tell me what option I should pick. Or if there's anyone else who's verified their PayPal account, what options did you pick?

Select selling..

Doesn't matter what you choose.

You can verify over the phone, they'll ring you via auto message and you do it that way.
 
Problem is the Op selected a business account and not just a personal account.

He has informed them he is a "non profit making business", hence their requests.

Ring them up to say you made a mistake and want a personal account, not a business account.

Unless you are a business of course?

Just got off the phone to them. She said you have chosen "Charity" which is why they need evidence.

I told her no, I chose "Individual".

She then recommends I change it to something else and hope the limitation gets lifted.

It must be a mistake in the automation at their end, because I clearly didn't choose "Charity" and it was even saved on the system... Yet it was still asking for charity details and Tax exemption certificates.
