Help me with a setup please

Hi, I'm movin in with 6 friends next year (uni house) and I'm looking for a decent ISP I can go to.

Ideally I would like 8mb uncapped DSL but I would settle for 4.

I also need a simple easy way to set it all up, not wireless. I think I'm the only with even the basic knowledge of networks so I would like control over their connections to make someone doesnt start using torrents or something and cain the uploads and knacker the speed.

If this is possible any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

when I put my number in the checker it just says it isnt a BT phone line, what can I do now?

I think the people who were in before us were on NTL, dont really want that though.

Any ideas?

ok it says I can receive upto 6.5Mb or faster ADSL and/or cable. But I'll have to get my line changed to BT wont I?

How much about is that gonna cost me?

Also once I have it all sorted what kind of setup within the house would you recommend?
