Help me with speaker replacement?

Hey all,

Well after sixteen years of solid service the woofer in my boston acoustics has given up the ghost and torn

I've taken it apart and have a few queries :

Do you measure from edge of speaker to edge to get measurement or include the frame?

If I measure resistance across the terminals, I should have the ohm figure required for replacement... roughly?
