Hi there chaps

I wonder is the ATI 3850 512MB card much better than the 256MB card... ie will i notice a significant difference between the two?

Will be running it on a E2160 1.80Ghz based system.

thanks

D

for higher resolutions the extra memory comes in handy, but if you're running at say 1280x1024, then not really...

that said, i'd advise you to go for 512mb, as it seems to be the minimum these days for games graphics, and so it ought to last that bit longer.

512mb is the only choice TBH.

I've tried the 256mb version and it was very good but i'd still recommend the 512. Far more futureproof!

Even at 1280x1024 256mb is not sufficient, IMO.

sure i read somewhere that crysis at 1280x1024 uses ~318mb of video memory. Cant remember where though....
