at home, you?
just got my bitfenix outlaw from the rainforest site, as ocuk didnt have it in stock again and didnt want to wait any longer unfortunately.

iv bought a piece of perspex and now im sat with dremel in hand wanting to cut the side mesh out and get my perspex in there, can anyone suggest a better way then using a dremel? im concerned that if i do it, the paint will come off the panel

Dremel is pretty much the best way. It depends on how the mesh is attached though. If it's simply riveted in or something, you could just drill out the rivets?

the mesh defo needs cutting out, its not riveted in unfortunately, i just spoke to a mate an he said he has a jigsaw that should do it, time to go round and get cutting, im taking the dremel too so dont worry lol

You'd be surprised.

I've had no issue with neatness with my Dremel.... Admittedly there has been some sanding down and touching up on each occasion though.

good news everybody, i managed to do it, using a combination of tin snips, the dremel, a file, and a jigsaw :p but i got it all sorted, just need to charge me camera up now to take a picture

ok, so after a nightmare with bills (i.e, havnt been able to pay them) :D
im back online, now to find my camera charger

ok, camera had enough charge in it just about, here we go with pics, and before anyone says anything, yes iv scratched the panel slightly lol

Is it meant to be oriented that way, or is your case upside-down?

The outlaw has the upside down layout.

Look good mate, did you at first make a cut with the dremel then use a metal cutting blade to cut the mesh out then cut the acrylic with the metal blade?

i cut out my perspex so it was a little bit bigger than the hole itself, iv actually cut out 3 side panels all identical to each other, going to have one plain, and the other 2 are awaiting a friend doing some custom images or graphic etching into them, but that will come later :p, they were cut out with a metal blade on the jigsaw
i cut the metal bits out with a combo of the jigsaw for the majority of the middle, then the snips for a slightly closer cut to the edge of the case, then filed it down a bit for a smooth edge then applied some permanant marker to any shiny parts and it was a perfect colour match thankfully lol

next stage is to drill the other bolt holes after a trip to b&q for the matching bolts, iv decided i may as well do all the holes instead of just the edge ones, i also need to straighten out a bit of the edging of the metal as it has warped slightly when using the jigsaw
