HELP! MS Exchange Information Store Wont Mount After Restore

Hey - would really appreciate some help.

Setup: SBS 2003 Server installed on C drive. Exchange logs and databases on D.

Today, i had to restore the server after an uninstall script from Symantec went wild and wiped a lot of the C drive. No problem i though, so i fired up Backup Exec System Recovery and restored to an image of 3AM yesterday morning. The restore went fine and booted OK.

Then i saw the Information Store wasn't mounting - and i just relaised what a mistake i made. What do i do now? I need to make sure the logs and databases are consistent. Ive ticked "Database can be overwritten by restore" and am trying to restore via Backup Exec (tape).

Help! What should i do?

ESEUTIL is going to be your friend here, dont stacks of these in my time, actually prefer Ex2003 to any of the newer variants as its a more simpler stabler setup.

Can you post some evetlog entries from when you try to mount the store in ESM that might tell us whats happening.
Also have you enough disk space.?

Exchange thinks its dirty so an eseutil will sort it out.

Thanks for the replies guys. In my panic, i ran Backup Exec and restored the Information Store to 3AM yesterday morning - loosing all of Friday's emails (NOT the best!) but everything is back up and running at least.

I was getting lots of EVENT ID 9518's:

Description: Error Current log file missing starting Storage Group /DC=COM/DC=COMPANY/CN=CONFIGURATION/CN=SERVICES/CN=MICROSOFT EXCHANGE/CN=MICROSOFT/CN=ADMINISTRATIVE GROUPS/CN=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=SERVERS/CN=SERVER1/CN=INFORMATIONSTORE/CN=FIRST STORAGE GROUP on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store.

So in future, what should i do in this scenario (ie, have current logs and databases but IS wont mount)? Run ESEUTIL with some which switches? Is there anything i should be aware of?
