Built my new rig today every thing went great, got windows installed downloaded prime.. and went for 4.6ghz o/c.. rebooted PC restarted(much expected) now here's my problem.. cmos will not reset... post keeps getting stuck on code a2(No ref in the manual) I've tried the multi BIOS switch as well but has the same problem.. its all most like my cmos has not reset even tho I've done it a 100 Times in the last hour. Stuck on a blank black screen with a2 on mobo but I can press delete and entering BIOS come on screen but nothing after happens just hangs there!

Disconnect the power lead.

Hold down the power button for 15 seconds to drain any remaining power (LEDs on the motherboard may flash and then go out).

Then try clearing the CMOS.

done that 3 times and cleared cmos 3 times, bios 1 is still the same... how ever i flicked the dual bios switch again and i'm on bios 2, need to reflash bios 1 some how?

just abit more info about my problem.

i had updated my bios to the latest version v10.5 flash was successful using mflash. problem arose when my overclock failed.

i have tried to clear cmon on bios1 to no success... after i clear the cmos, i get error code C5 if i reboot it hangs at A2 at post, currently running on bios 2(version10.0) and all is well.

methods of cmos clear i have tried

pressing the button on i/o pannel + with battery removed.
using the jumpers on the motherboard + with battery removed
every time pressing the power button for 15seconds after i have unplugged the power cable to make sure there is no power left in the system.
tried variations of memory sticks
re-seating gfx card

system spec
i7 3770k
8gb 1866mhz corsair vengance
ait 7970
corsair hx 850

is there any way i can reflash/recover bios 1?

solved it, problem was i had v10.5 on bios 1 and v10.0 on bios 2, once i had updated bios2 to v10.5 an option appeared in the bios "multi bios update" which then allowed me to re-write bios1, "multi bios update" is displayed in the manual but no other useful information is giving.

thanks for your help m8
