Help multimedia audio controller install problem!!

Right bascially my nforce 2 onboard sound could not be installed because everytime I try to install the drivers for the multimedia audio controller it would get to halfway and come up wiith "data invalid"
after trying all the latest drivers I gave up and assumed it was dead, so I ordered the SB audigy 4 and disabled the onboard sound in the bios and installed the SB audigy 4 and guess what I cannot install it because the multimedia audio controller installation gets to halfway and then comes up with "an error occurred during the installation of the device, the data is invalid" Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! its really starting to **** me off now!!!
Does anyone know a work around this???

Is it a new board mate? or has it always been like that?.
I vaguely remember reading `not to disable onboard sound on install of new card` at least at first if you have trouble.
You could use nvidias audio drivers in combo with the onboard ones,(don`t use nvidias ide drivers tho)
Try a different pci slot (it could be sharing irq with gfx card).My old sblive platinum just won`t work on my board,freezes system but works on mates!?.
Check up on a bios update for your board.
