Okay so the situation is I've locked my bike up at work and lost the keys. Its a D-lock which uses a flat key and I don't have a spare. No department at my work wants anything to do with it and basically says its down to me. I work at a big hospital so found this kind of weird that they didn't want to help at all. I have full documentation that its my bike and said this but have been told by every department that its up to me.

any advice?

My bike is free! The jack did the job. I had fears when the d-lock said made in Germany!

Thanks again for the help :)

Well security did actually turn up and try and apprehend my dad who had some bolt cutters with him haha. They backed down when I turned up with my I.D badge though. But security want nothing to do with breaking locks on bikes so your in a bad situation if you lose your keys.

Hack saw with metal cutting blade, will take about a minute if that to cut off.

I work at a big hospital and we've had loads of bike thefts and funnily enough the CCTV hasn't been on in all cases.
Get yourself a Kryptonite New York M18 because according to a security site it takes 5 minutes to get through it with a plasma cutter.

Now waits for some idiot to post a You Tube film of somebody getting in an old Kryptonite lock with a pen :D

Way ahead of you. I got a kryptonite bike lock on Tuesday with a free flex cable and have registered the keys online. It doesn't look like a car jack could get through this as easily.
