Help! My computer has got much louder recently... any advice? (heat problem?

My computer is a HP (m7630.uk) with a E6300 processor...

it idles on about 45 celcius but under heavy load stays about 65 or above which dosnt seem right...also now it is VERY noisy.
I think i did some damage when i had to take the processor off once to refit it... any ideas what could be happening?

General fan noise.

Under 0% load it sounds as loud as it used to under 100% load, and under 100% load its louder than my washing machine :S

The fan speed only reaches 1700 however so im not sure why

Could open the case and check the CPU/Graphics card/case fan for dust and if dusty, clean them. Also try poking your fans and hard disk to make sure they aren't rattling. And yeah, you could well have re-seated the CPU cooler incorrectly. (Correct position + correct grease).
