Help !! my computer just went nuts

Very concerned, all of a sudden my network card went nuts, dropping connection and the saying 'trying to aquire network address' then back to network cable unplugged over and over and over, then it was running really slow

then i turned it off, got my old network card out the draw (100mb d link card) and disabled my onboard nvidia network i was using, now it works again all of a sudden, what the ba-jeezus was that all about, have i somehow blown the nvidia network junk of the southbridge on my mainboard?

Maybe the router stopped sending packets and needed to be reset?

Possibly the network cable is physically damaged (shut in the door one too many times?).

It's hard to say what the exact fault is, when you've already come up with a solution to your problem.

well yeah true, its all very strange though as to why its done it, nope not in any doors or anything like that, using the same cable as before, lucky i have another network card though
