HELP!!!! my desktop is invisible

Weird one this.

I was playing overlord and when I quit to windows all the icons on the desktop were invisible. I cant even highlight them or make a quick selection box on the desktop???

The icons are on the desktop though as I tried to create a shortcut that was previously there and it asked if I wanted to replace.

Please help, I've tried to google but couldn't find anythink of relevance.

I'm using vista premium 64 bit.

Right click on the desktop > View > make sure "Show Desktop Icons" is ticked.

Ye that was one of the first things I done it is ticked

EDIT: Stupid blumin vista makin me look stupid...... checkbox was ticked, I unticked it, then reticked it and all is now fine.

Wasted about an hour on that one...AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH.
