last night, the gf's pc started playing up. SHe was playing cs :s (yeah she's cool 
) and was getting generally sluggish performance and after a few minutes of this, the pc froze with what she discribed as pink squares all over the screen 
i know what i think it is......
Anyway an hour later, the pc froze again, but this time the screen went off and stayed off. Are the two problems related do you think?
First impressions are the graphics card - a 9700pro with an artic cooler fitted. I'll be gutted if it is, that was my old card and its the card i treated the best. Never pushed hard or over heated. Im off to look at it tonight but f it is, i'll be forking out for a replacement
What i really want to know is; are there any other common causes of these problems, other than the graphics card and *possibly* cpu voltage?

msi k8t neo2 plat
2x256mb geil pc3200
ATi r9700pro artic cooler
160gb wester digital p-ata
