I was booting my PC when the power went and found windows wouldn't boot after that. It wouldn't repair so I installed another Windows XP on the same partition hoping I could get all my files back. But now I cannot access My Documents: '...is not accessible. Access denied.' Which held about 80gb of stuff. Is there any way of getting access or even deleting the folder at worst as I've only 2gb of Hard Drive space left.

Thanks guys hope you can help

Thank you yes I think its the problem in the edit.

But I cannot find this: On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
c. Under Advanced Settings, click to clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box, and then click OK.

 I've Windows XP Home Edition and I'm sure I am administrator on this as I can access all other users documents even from the old Windows install except mine.

EDIT: I forgot to say that in C:\Documents and Settings the My Documents file says 0 Bytes and when I looked for the missing data with WinDirStat it said the 80gb was unknown data.

XP Home doesn't allow you to access or modify acls directly.

I think you checked the box saying "make this folder private" on your my docs folder...

EDIT: Apparently, you can in safe mode...
