So, my GPU has done this on and off for a while now, and it's by no means constant: I run a two monitor setup on an HIS IceQ 7950 GPU, the primary monitor uses the regular DVI output and the other a MDP to DVI cable. Sometimes when i start up the computer the secondary monitor goes haywire, with red lines jumping all over the screen and the screen tearing a whole bunch, but it only happens when using the MDP cable, I have tried different cables and tested that it's not the monitor but i don't really know what the issue is.

Sometimes it can be resolved by switching MDP ports, or even just unplugging it and plugging it back in but it's happening more frequently now, and i wanted to know if anyone else has experienced a similar issue, or has any tips on how i could resolve it!

I recorded a video with my phone which you can see here, to show what i am talking about.

Thanks!

Sometimes? i take it then that doing this is just a temporary fix?

Do you have another MDP adapter than you can try? it might be a problem with the adapter, a loose connection in it, moving it around might cause the temporary fix.

Hey, thanks for replying! Yes, when i originally bought a MDP cable it happened immediately, so i got a replacement and then it stopped for a while so i bought another one to use both MDP ports! Then it started up again, so it's a possibility that it could just be the cable rather than the GPU, but i don't think 3 cables could be faulty

I would just use the HDMI to DVI cable i have lying around but they disabled the ability to use both the DVI and HDMI port on the card for dual screens, one of the MDP's must be used.

3 Going wrong is a bit too much of a coincidence, don't know, it could be the ports.

Aye, that was my thoughts. I'll probably end up replacing it when the new gen cards come out since it's not too much of an inconvenience. Just didn't know if it was something that anyone else had experience with/solving. Thanks anyway!
