Help my Ps3 isnt working as it should

Having a bit of a nightmare!!, noticed my PS3 kept freezing a little, so I reformatted the system and hard drive.

Any way every time I put a game disk in like buzz or singstar it goes to load, then I go this!

"The latest update for this software has been found. To sign in and use the software, you must update the software to the latest version. The system will quit the software and start installing"

It updates and then the Ps3 restarts!, I go to load the game again and it does the exact same thing! saying it needs to updatwe when apparently it just has!

Any ideas people? trying to get this all setup for singstar party with freinds tomorrow

what happens if you choose software update from the settings menu?

There's your problem, it's telling you to go out and get a proper multiplayer game.

FWIW I think you can download the update from a browser and install via USB.

Says its all up to date! but keeps asking to update it every time I put a game in

What version of the system software does it have on there now?

Try downloading the latest version from the PlayStation website to a USB drive (follow their instructions carefully) and try a manual update.

Press and hold the power button to enter recovery menu.

(If you didn't know/haven't already tried).

Go to where the GAME DATA is stored an delete any file that's to do with the game.
I had the same problem on one of my games (gt5) an this was the only way i got around it.
