Hi

I recently installed a ati x1950 pro agp into the following system

amd 64 3400
asus K8VSEDX
2gb corsair value select pc 3200
160gb hd
dvd rom drive
dvd writer drive
floppy drive
360 watt no name brand psu

I thought the psu would be fine running the ati x1950 pro as i had been running a nvidia 6800gt overclocked for some time without any high pitched whining noise from the psu.

The computer is running fine with the ati x1950 pro installed but its just the noise from the psu is getting on my waz and i cant live with it for much longer so could anybody reccomend a suitable psu for my old system.

thanks.

Hi

Changeing the psu is a big enough step for me i dont think im ready for pulling everything out of my case and installing it in another i could just bye a hole new system and be done with it but i just spent £150 on the x1950 pro.

That would work fine, but as i say you can get a Antec case with a 380w psu included for £10 less, so you should consider that unless you want to keep your current case.

Also you could probably manage with the 380w if you don't want to spend too much on it.As far as i know dell aren't a competitor, and if its dell its likely that it wouldn't fit as they use non-standard connectors...

If it isn't dell it should be ok providing the psu is not mAtx.

Edit: Judging by the board it uses its not a dell in which case it should be ok, as long as it fits in the case... all the more reason to consider getting an Antec case and psu bundle which would eliminate that potential problem...

Its not a dell
