sn25p ( oprteron, 2gb, x1800xt, dvd, 2 hd)

ok had this 3mnths was runningg nice i came home from work wednesday lunch time all ok came home after work a couple of hours later and its OFF

now it wont turn on , nothing at all no fans nowt.

so i took a look the splitter that came off psu to x1800 had gone brown where the yellow pins join now i now this is bad sign. no other signs of damage so i strip it down remove everything cpu, ram, vga, psu and rebuild. and still nothing.

whats likey to be dead psu? or mb? or both? x1800 dead?

what you reckon I am going to try and return it to be honest i am not very happy.

a broken sn25p isn't exactly unusual in my experience but for what its worth I'd say either mobo or psu.

Neither is easily fixed so I'd just rma it.

You could try booting it without the gfx in, clearly it won't work but the fans should spin up if the card is the problem.

I'm placing my bets on the psu.

i know what you mean, hope vga is ok I'm tempted to just big a c2d rig and sell sn25p once i get it back from my supplier if they repair if which they should seeing how its nogt even 3 months old yet.

Check the 3amp fuse in your power lead before you do anything :P

No fans spinning? psu most likely. posibly mobo.

Fans spinning? mobo, cpu, gfx card, ram.

Check out your mobo LEDs see what they are telling you.

Don't think there are bios beeps on the sn25p

If none of the above checks get you up and running again, I'd personally go for a refund instead of a repair/replacement if possible, then sell the other working parts individually if possible.

From memory that model was discontinued probably 2 years ago, which is an eternity in PC terms, and your supplier will have to go to Shuttle direct for a new mobo/psu unless they have more in stock on their shelves.
