Hi, I need a bit of solid advice about what to get. Essentially, it boils down to a compromise between RAM and Graphics card.

Do I get:

1. Mushkin Redlines PC4000 with a 6800GS XXX Extreme Edition (both **this week only**) (£399.99)

or

2. OCZ Platinum PC3200 EL with an ATI X1800XT 256MB (£399.38)

To be used with:
AMD X2 4400+
Asus A8N-SLi Premium

With the Mushkins, I can clock the pants off the 4400+ but dont get a high end graphics card. With the OCZs I get a better graphics card but limited overclocking headroom. The OCZs have tight timings, but dont overclock well (unless I use a divider). The Mushkins can have tight timings and overclock without the divider.

I don't game "heavily" but when I do, I play at 1024 x 768 and want all settings maxed. BF2, FEAR, COD2, NFS:MW etc

So, your opinions needed.

Get value RAM and an X1900XTX. You can run your RAM @ stock speed using dividers if necessary and clock the nuts of your rig as you see fit.

There really is no choice to be made here. That is one hella cool gfx card :D

Then start saving for a bigger monitor to make it worth while.

I know very little about Ram but what if you get Mushkin EP4000 or some of the even cheaper stuff as you save quite a bit of money and could easily get an X1800XL or 7800gt along with it.

If not for what you want to do I'd suggest the first option as the 6800gs should be adequate for your needs. You could also consider getting an X850XT in its place which I'd say was the better card.
