Hi all, I have 2 problems with my pc and I want help and advice before I spend any money.

The main problem is my pc won't boot up from cold. All the fans spin and lcds come on but I don't get a boot screen. To get it to boot, I have to take out ram and only use one stick. Some times rven that doesn't work and I have to reset cmos. Once it does boot properly, I have to feddle with bios to get more than 1 gig working. It seems very random if it works or not. I'm pretty sure it's not the motherboard. I had a similar problem with my old board.

Today, I managed to get it working with 4 gig of ram @ 800mhz for the first time. All seems fine once I get it running. What could be causing this problem? Bad vbios settings? Incompatible ram? power supply problem?

My second problem is not as serious but it could be linked. When playing Crysis, my pc turns itself off at a certain boss fight. It only does it with Crisis, it hasn't' done it with any other game. I posted about this a while ago and the advice I got was my power supply gets ripples under high load and it's probably slowly losing it's power.

I was planning to get a new power supply and ram but I don't want to spend money unless I know what the problem is. Becuase the boot up thing is really annyoing.

My spec is as follows:

e8600 @ 4ghz
Asus Striker II Formula nForce 780i (up to date biofiles)
OCZ PC2-8500C5 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual currently running 4x1 gig @ 800mhz
260 gtx in sli
OCZ GameXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply

All of these parts can be found at Overclockers.

Thank you for you time.
