I would like to have an overclocked cpu but I don't know whether to buy it overclocked or do it my self, and is it worth it to over clock because i heard it can shorten the lifespan drastically and as i said before i want a lasting pc for at least 5 years and if its normal can it run games just as well or much less well? Also i want a really good i5 core and i am willing to pay up to £250 and is the higher number version better than the lower number version of the 4digit cores? Also could anyone list the differences between the 3rd gen intel i5 and the 2nd Gen intel i5? If there are any things you would change please tell me. Thanks!

Hi guys thanks for the replys. I think i will SLI in the near future, by the way i'm just wondering(noob:D) if you SLI graphics card can you use just one monitor? Also what is the difference between the motherboard i listed and the one you listed. Also the board i listed is a pro, is that any better or is it the same as beejjacobs, i like the motherboard he linked me too but i still have no idea, i need more information if possible.

I have a perfectly fine optical drive(not the best but fine), i have a good monitor 22" and FullHD and LED. I already have an os it is windows 7 ultimate 64. I just want the the 16GB ram :) so that is a defo and i might do some video redering and perhaps some video capturing using camstasia.

I'm gonna get the GTX 570 as a gift and i am wondering if i can SLI a GTX 570 and a GTX 580 and what is the difference between the GTX 580/570 OEM and the retail, they are both refurbs i think by OCs?
580 OEM :

Ok so far i have come to this conclusion but feel free(please) to make some changes except for size of RAM. I don't want a SSD just yet, i will buy during christmas.

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor £173.94

Case Corsair 650D ATX Mid Tower Case £136.38

PSU XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply £99.98

HDD Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £80.63

CPU Cooler: Akasa AK-CC4007EP01 Nero 3 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/1155/1156/1366/2011/AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/FM1) £23.99
I don't know about a good cooler could some suggest me one and if the one i got from beejjacobs is good, im sure it is. Also as im going to overclock and probably SLI in the future, also my pc will be on for a long time probably as i will be watching a lot of movies during the week or just go on it, for this would i need much better fanning? Should i buy a liquid cooler and stuff, i want my pc to be constantly cool if possible.

Ram Kingston HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £64.53

MOBO Asus P8Z77-V PRO ATX LGA1155 Motherboard £152.12
Don't know about the mother board yet, when i get more information i will change it or keep it but i think i will change to the Gigabyte TBH.

Total: £731.57
Thanks for the replys so far, i have found this forum very helpful.

If there are any changes once again just say and i will reconsider. Do i need a 850W PSU? I'm gonna SLI the GTX 570 and the GTX 580. Plus do you guys recommend i buy a cooler for the GPU as well as i might overclock that as well and i want everything to stay cool.

I like the 2nd fan you linked because im going to get green cathodes(btw is sound reactive good?) and it will suite, sounding a bit gay :) yeah the optical drive is sata
I thought the motherboard i listed is the same as yours but just cheaper?
So updated version:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor £173.94

Case: Corsair 650D ATX Mid Tower Case £136.38

PSU: XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply £99.98

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £80.63

CPU Cooler: Alpenföhn Matterhorn Shamrock Edition CPU Cooler £49.99

RAM: Kingston HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £64.53

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard £119.98

Total: £718.42(£1.99 shipping)

Do i need 850W? I'm going to SLI two GTX 570s. If not i want to save money on that. BTW will 15" cold cathodes fit perfectly in the case?
Also what basically happens when i SLI do i double the vram?

I heard that the GTX 660 ti is coming out in July, i want a card that is capable to run borderlands, COD WAW Zombies and portal 2 then when that comes out i will upgrade to that. It is rumored to cost £150 which is very cheap and has 2gb. could you tell me a card which is not too expensive but can do what i need? This is because me and my friend are going to play maybe a lot of those games definetly borderlands. Or would you suggest that i just buy 2 7850 and crossfire them? BTW what is the difference between crossfire and SLI?

Hi thanks, yeah i just want a card that can handle borderlands on high and saints row the third and portal two and COD WAW zombies as me and my friend are going to be playing lots of zombies and borderland by lots i mean maybe 8 hours a day.

I was thinking of buying GTX 570 and then SLI'ing them at a later date but people say the vram is not enough for some games. Because of this i am thinking of buying a GTX 660 TI when it comes out and SLI'ing them straight away but that will be after july and me and my friend are going to be playing a lot in june. If i'm going to buy GTX 660 ti then i want a card which i can run those games on but i will throw it away after or just not use it and so i don't want to spend too much money. Or should i just buy the GTX 570? But i will SLI them a bit later maybe next year?
Any help?

When i get my good graphics card i will play a lot of single player games such as max payne 3 2 1 borderlands 2, prototype 2 assassins creed 3 etc
by good i mean 660 ti or 570 if you recommend

will a 550 ti be sufficient for the first games i asked for because it cost £100 which is decent cost and when the 660 ti come out i will buy that

OK i have decided to go for the GTX 670. do you guys think its worth it? im willing to pay the £320 for it, also do you guys think i would have to SLI it because i dont think i would?

I would just like now any recommendations on what lights i should buy, i have been informed the cold cathodes arent that good so any suggestions? I wan green lighting.

I'm thinking on the 60 cm, i want the whole case to be lit, left right top and bottom so will that be enough?
EDIT:
actually ive seen a RGB LED 1M and that looks smexy 1M 5050 SMD RGB 60LED/m LED Strip Light+IR Remote. 16 colours and a remote. Im just wondering how i would install it into my case, would i have to cut it or just bend it?

Can anyone help me to reduce this price to hopefully around £1000

sorry i should have said that the 650D case if a definite and i will not change that, sorry. Also I think I want the UD5H instead of the UD3H also if i get the UD3H what will i lose from its successor? I am getting a SSD as a gift for my birthday from a friend so i do not need that and i am keeping the 16GB ram i chose sorry. I already have a mouse a good enough one for gaming but im going to buy a new one with my birthday money very soon. Also I want the H100 corsair cpu cooler, sorry for being so picky. I also think i will pay an extra £30 for my GigaByte GTX 670. Also would a 700 or 750 w psu be good as i highly doubt i will be upgrading anything big like the GPU? Thanks beejjacobs for the reply.
TBH all i think that could be changed is the network adapter and the psu.

OOOOOOO the KFA2 seems really good also any idea if the cooling is as good as the gigabyte same goes with sound? But thanks for the suggestions and thanks for the comparison i would have never of found that lol. I now think i will buy the UD5H board. Also any suggestions for a decent PSU that wont burn out in a year? I will be using my PC quite a lot, but mainly just downloading n watching films and surfing the net but occasionally gaming like maybe each week as I have A-Levels next year and have to work my arse off :( . Also i extremely doubt i will SLI them and i will stick with the single GPU.
Also i've heard that the Gigabyte version is better than the KFA2
