HELP NEEDED 8800 GTX OVERCLOCKERS EDITION!!

just finished my new build but have an issue with the graphics card, upon installing the card and getting the xp driver installed all is well but when i go to check graphics there is always annoying lines across the screen firstly with winamp visualisation screen (any graphics which are strobing or fast changing) and crysis (mainly on the intro etc) and also any media played from the internet youtube etc. this could be a setting i am missing but need advice so as to be sure everything has been looked into.

xp pro 32 bit sp2 all updates
thermaltake mozart
thermaltake toughpower 750w dual pci-e out
745 bigwater
asus p5ke wifi ap
intel core 2 quad q6600
2 gig of geil 1066mhz pc8500
2xsamsung 750gig f1 spinpoints non raid
nvidia 8800gtx stock cooler
sony bravia 46 inch lcd tried with various resolutions

graphics driver 6.14.11.6921
bios version 0503

Its not tearing is it, got v-sync on.

vertical sync force on in nvidia control panel yes, seems to always be the first quarter of the screen
