don't know why i've been messing with folders etc...is there a way to reset folder access etc?

i'm logged as admin of course, but seem not to able to change persmision to this specific folder?

yeah kinda removed user accounts....

it's a local/share folder on my hdd.....

where i have all movies from P-Z stored....i tried moving them but i get this message...

must have deleted "ACCOUNT UNKNOWN + that number".....

Looks like the folder was created by a user you've delete.

do this....

Try taking ownership of the folder when you are logged in as admin

then close all proprieties windows and reopen them to grant yourself read and write permissions.

right click the folder, select security, then advanced, then change owner, add in your username and hit apply.

once done, close all windows and then open the security proprieties up again and add your user back in with read and write permissions granted.

why it appears that long number with dasshes in first place? "ACCOUNT UNKONW blabla" ? thanks.

like this look....who's the owner "ACCOUNT UNKNOWN"?

I'm TADEJ....So I just change owner?

thats because you have deleted the user so windows is unable to teel you what is missing. all thats left is the uid of the user which is what is displayed. hence the long string of numbers & letters.

should i add owner as:

Administrators(name of PC\Administrators) or
user-me(user name-pc\user)

so confusing some times :P

is it possible that i get ACCOUNT UKNOWN etc? because i just migrated all this disks from previous system where i ran XP? :P

I'd use the local admin account as you can;t delete it by mistake later on.

so:

name-of-pc\administrator (no 's' on the end!! as thats a group, not a user)
