So my fren need a desktop where he can edit video and photo ....also with good decent graphics....but he is setting £400. As his budget..I do knw stuff on comp..but coz of budget I can't seem to get around....

Will update if he can stretch on his budget^^

Are there any salvageable parts? Monitor, keyboard, mouse? Maybe case or hard drive. Does he need the OS?
 
Does he require mouse, keyboard, OS, speakers or just the case and components?
Has he any components from an existing PC he can reuse, such as sata hdd/odd?
And does he only need it for occasional video/photo editing?
 
Update: he could stretch upto £550.....s guys no windows or anything jus desktop and components...soo plss list all dem downhahaha.hono where r u : D

Okay this build is a little bit cheaper, I switched idlemans motherboard choice for a cheaper Z77 Gigabyte motherboard.
It will leave your friend with a little bit more money for postage. :)

These suggestions are spot on tho i feel that everyone agrees that it would be quite a shame not to spend 20 pounds more to get the 2 GB version of the GPU. Sometimes its better to push it a bit more so that you get better value for your money.

I know and understand that, I made the suggestion I did because he is on a tight budget.
by all means spend the extra on the GPU though.
