Have just swapped out an amd opteron 146 for a dual core 3800+ toledo core
e6 revision bought brand new some time ago.cpu is running stock at moment in a nf4 lanparty expert board with muskin redline ddr 400 at 400mhz.cpu vid set to 1.35v idles at 24-26 both cores using artic 64 pro cooler.pvm at 33c,
chipset at 44c.Have targan 480w psu + 8800gt + 3 x hdd's.
Running xp home sp3, but still using original 1.2.2.0 cpu driver that was installed with opti 146, which was o/c to 2500mhz completly stable.
Now getting random lockups and won't last couple of minutes occpt 30mins test cpu+ram. Was hoping to o/c to around 2500mhz or higher.
Any clues to instability ?
Got rid of norton antivirus and replaced with avg 8 free and zonealarm free only other differences from original setup.
Windows recognized cpu straight away so no need to repair install, haven't update bios as thought not needed to as cpu recognized.
Have power meter from ******s right now showing 155watts power draw while
typing this, psu set to 1 rail via switch rated to 30amps single or 2 x 20amps on 12v split.
