Help needed AMD or Intel SB ?

I have posted on the Motherboard section as well.


My pc is about to get a rebuild. I have an Asus M2n68 board and an AMD Athlon II X3 450 runing at 3.4.

My thoughts are to get the Asus M5A99X EVO AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) and then at some point upgrade to a Bulldozer CPU.

I only do some gaming, the pc is also used for photo editing and web use.

What I don't know is if this is the best use of my cash, would I be better going down the SandyBridge route ?

Any thoughts/advice most welcome.

well the cheapest route is to get the AM3+ mobo and use your current stuff. the bulldozer might or might not be faster than SB no one knows yet.
if you have a working system, then wait til mid july when some BD news should be out about performance and judge then. a new motherboard, unless yours is faulty, is not going to achieve a great deal.
