help needed, ASAP if possible :)

right, me a friend have been building his new rig tonight, everythings all together, powered up, and theres no signal going to the monitor. tried 2 different monitors and no luck, no on board graphics (well at least nowhere to plug in the monitor to the mobo), tried both dvi ports on the gfx card with the adaptor but no luck, the monitor just wont wake up (dell tft), and the crt says no signal, check signal cable. tried reseating the gfx card but no luck either.

motherboard Asus A8N-E
GFX XFX 6600GT 256mb PCI-E
CPU A64 3000+ Venice
1GB corsair value
seagate barracuda 160GB
PSU Tagan 420w

any help appreciated, obviously trying to get it running tonight!

have you got the card in the correct pci express slot + is there a power lead going to the card?

yes, and there is no where to plug power onto the card like on my 7800GT
