Hi All..

I'm building a new pc for work.

I've got everything connected,

Hard drives by SATA
DVD drive by SATA.

When i power the machine on and go into the bios. The bios picks up the hard drives but doesn't pick up the DVD drive.

Any ideas where i've gone wrong?

I've also tried an old IDE cable and drive from a spare pc. The bios picks up the DVD drive, Set that to be the default boot device and booted with the OS disk and nothing happens.

Help please.

Paul

Try a different sata port on mobo, check all cables are plugged in, you should have a sata and a sata power on both the HDD and DVD

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried all 4 SATA ports and i have 1 SATA cable and SATA power cable to the hard drive and i have a SATA cable and SATA power cable to the DVD drive.

Nothing happens still. Bios doesn't pick up the DVD drive.

I know all sata ports work as i've tried the hard drive in them all and the bios picks up the HD everytime.
