So until recently I was gaming on a old Iiyama 20" monitor that has never let me down and all my other uses film/tv net use, light photo and video editing was done on a iMac.

Unfortunately the iMac went bang recently and I cannot afford to repair/replace it so after temporarily stealing the wife's identical iiyama monitor I am now in the market for 2 new 24" monitors but am struggling to choose between TN or IPS.

Gaming side of things:
BF4 no match type play just for fun so not worried about max graphics settings
WoW
D3
Elite: Dangerous

Looking at either the IPS Asus VN248H or the TN BenQ GL2460HM unless anyone has further ideas within a £300 budget for the pair.....

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Any reason why you want 2 24"? Why not a single 27" monitor?

Play games and watch films at the same time :) or watch films while working on underwater photos/video on the other.

Its what I have got used to having a single 20" and the iMac side by side and then switching to the 2 x 20"

My other concern was my Gfx card, (GTX750Ti), being able able to handle anything much bigger and run games at least reasonably well.

If that makes any sense at all :)

For gaming though i wouldn't use IPS, get one of each?

Hmmmm Interesting idea but not sure my OCD would let me have 2 non matching monitors lol seriously though I will definitely have a look at that

OK silly question time

As per my OP I haven't looked at new monitors in a long time almost 7 years since I bought my last ones so am just starting to catch up a bit.

When it comes to 144Mhz is there any specific graphics card requirements to run it at decent settings in games ie would my 750Ti be up to the job.

I am looking to change my GPU soon but probably not until after Xmas at the earliest.

Hmm, does the 750Ti have dual link DVI? As you'll need that to be able to run higher than 60Hz.

Apparently it does :)

Display Support:
4 displays Multi Monitor
4096x2160 Maximum Digital Resolution
2048x1536 Maximum VGA Resolution
Yes HDCP
Yes HDMI
One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One mini-HDMI Standard Display Connectors
InternalAudio Input for HDMI

Ah wasn't sure as not all the 750Ti's on OCUK list Dual link DVI :)

Personally i think it will struggle to hit 144Hz, but that doesn't mean you have to play @ 144Hz.

Something we didn't consider is this beauty of a monitor http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-109-LG&groupid=17&catid=1120

This allows you to run windows side by side, good for gaming, and also watching movies and photo editing etc at the same time :)

This is sort of what I suspected which is why I hadn't even looked at 144Hz monitors or G-sync etc.

That LG one is a bit tasty looking :)

Thanks for the help though its much appreciated.
