Hi guys I hope you can help me!! I Last built a machine about 5/6 years ago. Here was the spec

Antec P180 Andvanced Super mid Tower
ASUS P5N-E SLI
Intel core2 Duo 2.4ghz
Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS OC
Samsung Sata 500GB
Hitachi 320Gb IDE
Akasa 650W PSU
Kingston RAM

Nowwwww a little while back after a drunken night and to much cider, i spilt my cider in the fan hole at the top of the machine... which obv totally wrecked my machine. I pretty much wrote it off and started using a laptop. It wouldnt boot and i wouldnt get a display although was getting power to the motherboard.

Ive had someone take a look and test it they are pretty much saying taht the motherboard is ruined along with the graphics card and maybe the PSU.....

Anyway im looking to rebuild my machine. I was thinking of using my old case with both my HDD.

Please could you spec me a machine??

I mainly use my machine for playing poker so would want dual display for 2 monitors with the option to be able to uprgrade at a later date and be able to get 3/4?. I also do a little gaming nothing to heavy but a little WoW and FM2011 and maybe some CoD....

Im not sure what my budget should be here? Im pretty much willing to spend between £300- £400 could even squeeze to £450 if needed.

So to recap...

Budget £300-400

I need a spec for:-

Motherboard
Processor
Graphics Card
PSU
Ram

Im looking to buy the parts today so any help would be much appreciated... Ive been out the IT game for a little while so the currect techonolgy is a bit daunting....

Tx in advance!

Ive just the paperclip text on my PSU and the fan starts. So would my PSU be ok to reuse to keep costs down??

Both Vga i use these tho...

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £99.98
1 x Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £94.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G) £22.99
1 x OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.39
Total : £243.76 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Thats a starting point for a spec.

• The board does SLI/Crossfire at equal 8X/8X, its the cheapest to do this.

Both Vga i use these tho...

Makes it a bit harder when using old monitors to suggest a GFX card as it needs to have suitable outputs,

This for example,
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-174-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1866

• Has a DVI-I which you can use an DVI-VGA adpater on.
• It also has a DVI-D which you cant (digital signal only)
• It does have a mini-displayport which you can use an "active" adapter to convert to VGA

You perhaps should look at this thread - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18380220

A single ATI card can run three monitors when using an "active" adapter, Nvidia cards can run two, for more you need to pair them up in SLI.

======================================================

This Nvidia card has two DVI-I,
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-171-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1830

So you can run your two screens from it using those adapters, then add a second card in SLI to run three screens.

Did you want the screens to be an extended display? or for all three/four to show different stuff?

There is alternatives again, like using the motherboard HDMI to run a screen, use your 8800GS to power a screen or two etc along side the GTX460

Tyvm Stulid.... I think im gonna just buy 2 New Moniotors, im not sure on size yet though.....
The Graphics card you have linked will that do the job? the price seems resonable and im not an extreme gamer.

And the PSU i have will that be ok to power everyhign i need?

Couldnt reccomend 2 24" monitors could ya?

Brilliant ty so much stulid. I was talking about the 6850 but is there any reason to pay the extra and go with the nvidia card? I've also just dogged out my windows.. I've got vista home premium 64bit. Now this is already installed on one of my drives... I can't remember which one I'm thinking the smaller one tho... Now will I just be able to connect everything up , boot it the hdd and come in to windows? Will I have to do a reinstall??

Right i ordered everythign and its arrived... Installed all the parts... Then i find out the PSU is not working..... Can you recommend a PSU for me please based on the products ive bought.... ty ever so much Stulid :)
