I am anxious to purchase a new Monitor as I am currently using a Dell P1130 CRT Monitor.

The reason for replacing the dell is that it is starting to loose focus.
So basically I am looking for something that will perform as close as possible to the my CRT Monitor.

I have tried the DGM IPS-2701WPH which for me was not suitable, It has a lovely sharp picture, colours looked accurate enough to the eye. I did not like the IPS glow while looking straight on, it also did not have good black level detail compared to my CRT. It also suffered from banding on grey and green gradients.

What I am looking at now are from the following models:

Dell u2412M
Asus PA248Q
Dell UltraSharp U2410
Asus PA246Q
HP LP2475W

I prefer the 1920:1200 aspect ratio over the 1920:1080
It would be used for Photography, watching AVI's, Blu-ray etc..
I am not a gamer.
It would also have to be easy on the eyes for reading text.

Does anyone know how the Asus PA248Q compares with the Dell u2412m?

Also if anyone would like to post any pro's or cons for the models listed.

I have read most of the reviews but I would like to hear from people that actually have the Monitors and how they find them.

You say that you are happy with yours, what is it mainly used for?
Do you use it for any photography? or is it mainly used as a general purpose Monitor?

Only 1 choice > Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

What is your reason for putting it at the top of the list.
Do you have one of them?

As regards to reviews I feel that it is all down to the Monitor they have at hand while carrying out a review.

I know the specs for the monitor is good on paper and that there has been issues with the Monitor in the past, don't know if all of them have been sorted out, tint issues etc..

I have always had it in my mind to purchase one of these, the problem is that I have not seen one up close to help me make up my mind.

I think it has been some of the reviews that have put me off of the Monitor and problem history of course, they claim that it has poor contast ratio and black levels.

How long do you have yours now?
What is the screen coating like? Is anything like the u2711 that some owners are complaining about.

I am leaning towards the u2410 being at the top of my list now.

I have the U2410 and recommend it. I use it for programming and photography and can't fault it. The picture is crisp and the build quality is fantastic. I have it next to my Hyundai (a good screen) and it blows it away.
